On Friday, April 17th, 2015, C.A.D.S was pleased to host local children’s author, Wiley Blevins. Wiley is the author of several popular “early readers” children’s books, including Max Has a Fish, A New Friend, Max Finds an Egg, Stella Almost and more. Through his playful writing style, Wiley has introduced young readers to many imaginative characters. Many of his books also feature important morals teaching self-confidence and how to be a good friend.
The author was born in Wilmington North Carolina and he has had a distinguished career in teaching. Wiley worked at an international school in Ecuador, and has taught in both public and private schools Stateside. He later attended Harvard University for graduate school where he became involved with educational publishing. “My philosophy was that I couldn’t create great materials for teachers and students unless I was in schools with teachers and students every week,” Wiley reflects. His visit to C.A.D.S demonstrates the success of his venture. The children were great listeners and eager to participate. After the reading, everyone was excited to receive a signed book from the author…
