Red Room Ages 2-3

“I’m the Mommy and the Big Sister. We’re making cookies,” Alyn, age 3 explains her role in a fast evolving, imaginary kitchen game…

Dramatic play is a foundation stone of life in the Red Room. Red Room students love building themed sets for their imaginary adventures. Be prepared to find yourself transported to a kitchen, a doctor’s office, a shoe store or even a hair salon!

Elsewhere in the classroom, students are working hard to master gross and fine motor skills, alongside social skills for managing emotions.Teachers will assist parents with the potty training process and students are encouraged to assert their independence by learning self-help strategies. There’s even a daily “special helper” elected during circle time every morning!

Big words are on the tip of every 2-3 year-old’s tongue. The Red Room emphasizes color, number and letter recognition. Students learn how to follow one and two step instructions–important skills to know when exploring the sensory excitements of the classroom sand table. Dive your hands into moon sand, colorful play-dough, pompoms and more…
